Morris Timperley was the husband of my greataunt Mary Ann Marshall I believe they were
married in Feb 1914 in Chorley (Alderley Edge) in the parish of St. Philip and had 3
children: George, Winnie and Cathleen. His parents were John Morris Timperley (born 1861)
and Harriet (born 1867). Can you offer any further information about this part of my
family? I am happy to exchange what know. Peter A. Forkes pforkes(at)pobox.com

I stumbled across your website by chance and found it very interesting. I even
learned a few things. Although not a Timperley myself i do have a strong association with
the name as i grew up in Timperley itself next to Timperley Lodge. The name itself is so
unique it does indeed seem that all the Timperleys scattered around the world must have
originated from this quiet and unassuming town. How did i discover your site? Well, having
just recently come across someone called Timperley for the first time in my life, i
wondered where all the Timperleys live. Check out the link below and you'll see that the
highest concentration in the UK is is nearby Stockport. Interestingly the telephone
directory for the Altincham area lists only three Timperleys and none of them actually
live in Timperley itself! Nebraska has the highest consentration in the USA. I was in
Omaha, NE some years ago and never imagined there would be lots of people living there
with the surname Timperley!! Link to surname site http://cetl2.geog.ucl.ac.uk/UCLnames/Surnames.aspx
Anyway good luck with your project. PS - Of possible fleeting interest to you there have
been several famous resident of Timperley over the years including amongst others Alan
Turing, father of computer science and the man who decoded the German enigma code thereby
helping to win WWII.Regards Paul Lyons, Var, France pierrick(at)iwon.com
