LDS Family Search Genealogy Service Provides
searchable access to extensive genealogical resources gathered by The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints. Searches the following databases: Ancestral File,
International Genealogical Index (British Isles, North America, and Finland regions), and
some web sites.
Timperley Genealogy Forum provided by
genealogy.com. Read and respond to messages about the Timperley family. The goal of
this commercial site is to promote their product, FamilyTreeMaker, and to substantially
expand the genealogy market by reaching millions of people with an interest in their
heritage and giving them the online tools to explore their own history.
Lineages
USGenWeb a group of volunteers working together
to provide Internet websites for genealogical research in every county and every state of
the United States. This Project is non-commercial and fully committed to free access for
everyone.
How to trace your family history
The site is called Treasure Maps. It has a "How to" guide for starting
genealogical research on your own family and tips for overcoming some of the most common
obsticles.

England and Wales
- Civil Registration for England and Wales The
FreeBMD Project's objective is to provide free Internet access to the Civil Registration
index information for England and Wales. The Civil Registration system for recording
births, marriages, and deaths in England and Wales has been in place since 1837 and is one
of the most significant single resources for genealogical research back to Victorian times
- Cenus data for England and Wales The FreeCEN
Project's objective is to provide free Internet access to the Cenus data from 1841 to 1891
for England and Wales (coming July 2001).
- Archives and other relevant Internet sites
(UK) A comprehensive list of links to British national, special, local and University
repositories as well as international (US, Canadian, Irish, Australian) archives and
related web sites.
- Greater Manchester County Records Office
(UK) The main function of the Office is to store historical records relating to the
Greater Manchester area, and to make them available for members of the public for
research. There are now some 4 miles of shelving of records, which date back to 1197, and
this page attempts to describe the main categories, and indicate how they may be used.
- Cheshire, England: Births, Marriages and Deaths
The Register Offices in the county of Cheshire, England, hold records of local births,
marriages and deaths back to the start of civil registration in 1837. These records are
freely accessible via the Internet. Please note that the indexes are not yet complete for
all years and districts, but records of 406,433 births and 160,384 marriages are now
on-line.
