Could you connect me with someone knowing about the history of the city of Temperley, Argentina. I would be very gratefull, one of my ancestors moved to Temperley, had a metal workshop over there and a son being the director of SAETA. Last year I found a telephone number of a van Schijndel in BA, but nobody spoke English. Kind regards, Maarten van Schijndel, Geldrop Holland m.vanschijndel5(at)chello.nl

Your Timperley Hall website is very informative. I found a Gertrude daughter of S Bury of Timperley Hall and she's described as an heiress. She died on 28th August 1935 having (in 1906) married Edward Sladen, Mayor of Tunbridge Wells, who died in 1921. They had no children. This information comes from Burke's Landed Gentry under 'Sladen of Rhydoldog'. Do you think the Bury family mave have owned Timperley Hall after the Brookes family? I was reading the Timperley's of Huron--under John of Manceshter, England, born 1821--he was born March 22, 1821 and his wife was Mary Ann Mitchell, born August 31, 1827 in Lancashire, Yorkshire, England. You have 11 of their children--I'll give you the rest; if you can't use them, that's ok. John Poole, you have his birth date--his death date is August 14, 1926; - for Sarah, you have she was born July 16, 1895., I am pretty sure it was 1851 she was born; Her death date was June 13, 1940; Under Edward Abbot--I feel quite sure his death date was April 6, not 7th--I have his funeral memo, and his obit. He is buried here near his parents. Under Frank, you have Owen and I have seen it both ways, and I could be wrong, but I think it's Hoen--his tombstone reads Frank H. and obits, etc., I have found say H. Anyway, he died Oct. 31, l956 and is buried here. The other 5 are--Elizabeth, who lived one week--Oct. 8-1855-Oct. 15, l855; Jane Plant--Born March 13, 1858; died Oct. 12, l930; Alice Marion, born May 9, l863-March 10, l930; Phoebe, born June 20, 1867, died Feb 20, 1949; and Mary, born June 22, 1853, and died Feb. 27, 1955. I have not had all my morning coffees, but think this is correct--like I said, most of them are buried here, and all very near each other. It is very moving to see all the graves together. I am enjoying your website very much--I am grateful when people put so much info on a family website!! Thanks!!  Nelsen, Omaha, NE LucyIler(at)aol.com

I have not spent a lot of time on the Timperley site yet, but my great-grandfathers sister, Lily Ann Williams, married Edward Abbot Timperley. I have also found two other ways we are connected. I live in Omaha and know quite a bit about John and Mary Ann and their sixteen children, etc., and where they are all buried. John and Mary Ann Timperley were the Omaha matriarch and patriach--they had sixteen children, and I don't know what you have on them. Anyway, Edward Abbot was one of the sixteen. John and Mary Ann and 11 of their children, and then their spouses and their children are all buried in Mt. Hope in Omaha. I have found, I think, about 100 graves there belonging to Timperleys. I have spent months finding all of their obituaries and have quite a few funeral memos. Edward Abbot was born June 9, 1865 and died April 6, 1952. Lily Ann Williams was born September 29, 1868 and died August 26,1955. They had 8 children--John Henry, born Dec. 31, 1887, died March 14, 1968; 2)Joe Abbot, born Dec. 18, 1890, and I have not found his death date yet. 3)Edward Eugene, born Jan. 8, 1894, died September 20, 1961; Grace, born Nov. 27, 1895; Arthur, born August 5, 1897, died Nov. 21, 1975; Nellie-born July 21, 1901; Lillie June, born Jan. 1, l905 (still alive--talked to her this week--amazing, huh?); and Florence Blanche, born Aug. 20, 1907. I know Richard Timperley in Evanston, Wyoming, the grandson of Edward and Lily--he is sending me "The Timperleys of Hintlesham" book or something like that. I really don't know which line they are considered to be part of--I have just dealt with what I have uncovered here in Omaha, which seems to be quite a bit because of the 16 children! If there is anything I could add, I would be happy to, and I look forward to spending time on this site and learning a lot! thanks! Karen Nelsen, Omaha, NE LucyIler(at)aol.com

My name is Matthew James Timperley. I only know what my grandmother has told me and all I have been told coincides with what is on this site but when I try to find information relating to my portion of the family all I find is a dead end. my grandmother has copies of the documents of Timperley manor which were lost in a fire at the monastery where they were stored. also the copies of the family crest she has is published on this site. one of my ancestors spent 100 000 pounds in research and found a direct link to Timperley manor, this research was done about 100 years ago. if you have any information you could provide me with I would be extremely grateful. my family now resides in Lancashire, England. you can contact me at matttimp(at)hotmail.com sincerely Matthew James Timperley

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as Robert Boustead of Gateshead (Newcastle Upon Tyne) Tyne/Wear England. I have been living in Buenos Aires for the past 6 years and working beside a small town outside of B.A. called Temperley. The founder of the Town was George Temperley from Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. My mothers maiden name was Temperley and of course she was also from Newcastle Upon Tyne. I have in my possession a book written in Spanish about the Town of Temperley and the founder. If you are interested drop me a line. Robert Boustead bousteadrobert(at)tinyonline.co.uk

I discovered a few days ago your excellent Timperley website. I am interested in Harold John Timperley (1898-1954) who was my remote predecessor as China correspondent for the British Guardian newspaper (then Manchester Guardian) during the 1930s. My aim is eventually to write a feature article about him. Harold played an important part in exposing Japanese aggression at the time in China, particularly the Nanjing Massacre of 1937. He died in 1954 and relatively little seems known about him. (I see you have a recent enquiry from an N.Suzuki on your site). I have tried to email Ann Joyce -- Harold was the brother-in-law of her grandfather -- but the address given on the site no longer works. I would be very grateful if you could tell me how to contact her, and to suggest any other Timperleys who might know more about him. And of course I would be most interested in any information you yourself may have. I have written a brief summary of what is known to me about Harold, which I am attaching to this email. With many thanks for any help you can give me. best wishes John Gittings jgitti(at)hotmail.com

Listed on your TIMPERLEY site is a Sarah TIMPERLEY who married John OXSPRING 6 June 1798 (Timperley Parish Registers for Wirksworth, Derbyshire, England ). John and Sarah are my 4th great grand parents. I was wondering if you have any family ties to Sarah and her father David or is this just a listing of TIMPERLEY's from John Palmers web site? If we have ties I would be happy to send you a copy of my tree to add to your file. Thank you in advance for your time, Richard Driver, Snoqualmie, Washington USA rldriver(at)imajis.com

The Argentine newspapers "La Razon" on Monday 04, 2002 and Clarin in January 14th, 2002 had dedicated a space for George Temperley, the City and me, as a geanealogist in my search of all his descendants ... We mentioned the Timperley Family History and Genealogy website in these two publications, so perhaps you will be receiving some mails related to that issues. I've been receiving many mails from direct descendants of George Temperley in my personal mail ... I want to prepare and update the advances of the investigation, during the next two weeks. Thanks to your page, two other members of the Temperley family were writting to me lately, one in the USA and the other in the U.K., with both of them im discussing the links between George Allison Temperley and their respective families in New Castle on Thyne. Thanks for your kind words regarding my work and let me also say thanks to you for your permanent assistant and coordination as a Master of the web site that, fortunately, continues growing and improving every day, congratulations. I am an amateur historian in Japan and interested in Mr. Harold John Timperley who was an Australian correspondent for Manchester Guardian in 1930's. + I respect his works very much. He probably served for the Chinese ministry of information from 1939 till 1943, and then took position to an international organization and UNESCO. I wish to know his correct and detailed biography and what he did for the national Government of China. If you know any information on Mr. H.J.Timperley or any books to suggest me to read, I would appreciate letting me know. I have following books and magazines written or edited by Mr. H.J. Timperley at the moment: 1) What War Means: The Japanese Terror in China, London, Victor Gollancz Ltd., 1938 2) The Japanese Terror in China, N.Y., Modern Age Books, Inc., 1938 3) Japan: A World Problem, N.Y., The John Day Company, 1942 4) some ASIA magazines issued in 1937 to 1938.(Mr.Timperley was an adviser of the magazine.) Thank you for spending time to read this e-mail and your cooperation for my research. Noboru Suzuki,   Japan.  P.S. Mr.Timperley is well know as the author of "What War Means" to whom are interested in the Nanking atrocity in 1937. eport(at)sinfonia.or.jp  My home page URL is www.sinfonia.or.jp/~infortec/

I have just being looking at your site which I have found very interesting. I am trying to do some research into the history of my house which was the gardeners cottage for Hintlesham Hall . Rose Cottage dates back to late1500's. As it is tied up with the Hall it seems impossible to track down the previous occupants before it was sold. I wondered if you had any info that might be useful. The book ....Timperley of Hintlesham a study of a Suffolk family, Ryan,(1931) looks like it might be interesting. Do you know where I could buy or see a copy? Best wishes, Jan Mickleburgh LISA_CHRIS(at)rose01473.freeserve.co.uk

I'm a new born as far as computers are concerned so please bear with me ok. my name is David Timperley , I have a register of Timperleys' from around the world . It is about 10 years old now but may be of some use for locating family members. I am really interested in the Timperley sites and would like to persue it further. My father was Cyril Frederick Timperley and as far as I know came from the Shropshire area, sadly that is all I know of my fathers family, he was born about 1910 died about 1975 and lived most of his life in Wythenshaw Manchester. His profession on my birth cert. was listed as a flour miller. That is all the info I have on my line of the Timperley clan, so if anyone can shed more light I would be over the moon. Hope this gets to someone!!! regards to you, DAVID T.
