I was extremely interested to find your Timperley site the other day. It so happens that I put up a site recently named "Timperley of Hintlesham" which does not have much on it yet but which I hope to expand when time permits! By the way, I am descended from this family. Perhaps you would like to put a link in. Could I make a link to your page? You may also notice that the coat of arms which I have used has rather jagged edges. Would you be agreeable to my using your version? Here is the URL of my site http://homepages.strath.ac.uk/~cjis19/timp.htm

I came into ownership of a beautiful antique banquet lamp a couple of years ago and I have been attempting to research the recipient. It is engraved thus: Presented to F.H. TIMPERLEY By the Staff of The Bed Daily Telegraph on the occasion of his marriage June 25, 1906. The base is silver with the name Fattorini and Sons engraved, and there are English silvermarks on it. If you have any information regarding F. H. Timperley I would very much appreciate anything you can tell me. Perhaps he was the editor or owner of the Bed Daily Telegraph, which I think may have been a newspaper, although I have been unable to find any information on it. Mr. Timperley must have been very well liked by his staff to have been given such a beautiful lamp as I am quite sure it would have been very expensive in 1906. Looking forward to hearing from you and hoping this may be a family member of yours. Sincerely,Shirley Adams, 15 Autumn Rd, Arkansas City KS 67005-4307, rcadams(at)intellex.com

Webmaster note: Gordon T. Adams mancty(at)hrfn.net was kind enough to supply us with the information that a Timperley name appears on the Menin Gate at Ypres. He grew up there and would be happy to answer questions about the topic. His info has been added to the Genealogy Lost and Found section.

Hello. My name is Peter Timperley, originally from Montreal Quebec Can. Father,George Hubert- Canadian also; George Arthur from Lancaster England. 1920-30 was about the time they left England for Canada. I am not sure this is the information you are interested. Someone did contact me regarding a Timperley web page, of which I have not found. If any of this information is helpful, and you need any more information, pls contact me at PTimperley(at)aol.com. Thank you. Peter
    • Thank you for your quick response. I am not sure about creating a web site, as I am able to go back as far as the early 1900's. A family tree was never a major issue. Should you have any advice, please relay back to me. I will visit your web site today for sure. Thank you again for your response. Respectfully, Peter

I am quite new to the internet so sending e-mail may or may not be successful. I was pleasantly surprised when I typed in Timperley and found your pages which got me enthused. Since then I have with the help of my mother, compiled our family tree and will forward it to you through the mail as I don't think I could stand the process of typing it out again for e-mail. I'm sure there must be a way to transfer the information from Microsoft Works but I'm not that clever. My family has a double dose of Timperley running in their veins as my grandmother Dorothy Timperley married her first cousin Lionel Timperley. We also share our family tree with Richard Timperley of Queensland who is, I think, my grandparents cousin. I will post the information to you tomorrow and hope you find it useful and can understand my family tree. If you need to contact me my e-mail address is naway(at)treko.net.au or my postal address is 1 Manser St, Kukerin. Western Australia. 6352. I look forward to learning more about our family. LS & JA Joyce

I thought you might be interested in a [Timperley] home page I have just set up. Could you set up a link from the family home page? http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/t/i/m/Paul-Timperley/ The page relates to my ancestor, James Timperley and his antecedents. Is anything interesting happening to any Timperleys anywhere? All the best, Paul Timperley ptimperley(at)intergate.bc.ca

G'Day from all of the Timperley's in Western Australia. Discovering your page was a very interesting suprise for me as I have only recently been connected to the internet. My name is Jason Timperley and I am in Perth, Western Australia at the moment. I am 18 years old and I am currently studying Law and Commerce at the University of Western Australia. I just thought that you would be interested in hearing that there is quite a small group of Timperleys here in Western Australia, and have been for quite some time. The family farm is located at a small country town known as Kukerin which is about 300km southeast of Perth and it was first cleared and settled by my family in about 1912. Although Im not all up with the family history, my grandmother is, she is currently compiling a record book of the Timperley family history, I am sure she would be interested to contact you, I will pass on your details to her next time I see her. Of the Timperley's living in Western Australia there are, my grandfather Doug and his wife Joan. Doug's brother Merv and his wife Elma. Doug and Joan have three children in W.A. their son Ian (my father), and daughters Helen and Ann, who are both since married with children. A third daughter, Lyn sadly passed away some time ago. I have two sisters and one brother. Merv and Elma have three daughters so sadly no-one is passing on the Timperley name from that side of the family. All three daughters, Meryl, Shelly and Raema are also married and have children of their own. I noticed the name of Richard Timperley from Queensland in your web-page and we have a copy of Heroes Galore at home, my grandparents and Richard have recently exchanged letters and also books (Joan recently wrote a book about the history of our local district). They have also explained to our relationship with Richard Timperley and his family but I really don't remember. I hope this short e-mail was of interest to you and as I said I will pass on your details to my grandparents who will be quite pleased. I hope all of the members of your family are well, and I look forward to reading more of the home page. Feel free to respond. Best Wishes, Jason Timperley timpers(at)ibm.net

I am the son of Doris Parker (nee Timperley). Briefly Doris was the second daughter(DOB 22/8/19) of Harold & Emily Timperley of Stockport, England. She had an older brother Arthur, then Doris, sister Joan and brother Ronald. All deceased except Joan. Doris married Harry Parker, my Father. They had four children David, Malcolm, Philip and myself. My parents migrated to Australia (Sydney NSW) in 1962. Other Timperleys also followed this family to Australia. There is a listing for related T's in NSW from David T.

I was happy to find your web site on the Timperly's. My paternal grandmother was a Massey and we have traced them back to Hamon de Mascy de Pontington (and further) who was married to Jane Timperly, father William. I did not have that line any further until finding your information. Seems as though this is a joining of two different but common de Mascy lines as your research has indicated. Our Massey info by the way, came from "My Massey familiy in England" by Frank Massey. It is a three volume set tracing the massey's back to the 1100's who had come with the invasion. Perhaps you can find it in your local library wherever you are. Thanks for the info and apparently a new-found cousin. Frank Jackson fmjackson(at)email.msn.com

Further to Alan Timperley of Brisbane, he was born at Crumpsall Manchester North 22nd July 1938. I guess that this is the last of his line.. He did have a daughter that he had mentioned but unfortunately had lost contact ever since she was small. Anyways keep up the good work. I am impressed with your page even though I am not of your clan, but i will continue to check in. Regards, John kubler(at)one.net.au

There are several Timperleys in Australia although my branch is not directly related to them. We came from Manchester(nr Timperley) 27 years ago but I have made contact with a guy by the name of Richard Timperley who has not only published a book but has also done a lot of research on the family in Australia, NZ and UK. If you want any more details please let me know. My wife & I will be travelling around the World starting in April and could possibly attend a reunion in August as that is about the time we will be heading back to Oz from Europe & we intend to visit N or S America on our way home. I was delighted to find the additions to the Timperley pages. I appreciate that it's not easy to find time to do this sort of thing. Haven't read it all yet, but it looks encouraging. Stephen Timperley stephent(at)central.co.nz

I was very surprised when your page turned up when I typed 'Timperley' in Yahoo. I have details of 4 generations of Timperley's in the Netherlands, which my late grandfather collected. I am happy to share them with you. Sandy Timperley pvtl(at)worldaccess.nl
