Family History

According to my Aunt Bessie (Timperley), my great grandfathers name was John Ernest. The families roots started near Manchester/Lancheshire area of England. John Ernest was a mining contractor (coal) and moved quite often. He married a lady named Betsy Joyce-Townsend near the mid 1895's.They had 7 children. Ernest, Dolly, Bessie, Alice, Sally, Thomas (died as a infant), Sally and George Desmond. Just before George was born in1918, in the summer, John Ernest was killed a mining accident near or at West Kerby. He was buried in a cemetery in Heidon. John Ernest Brother George, worked at some factory in Manchester and had 2 sons, George and Leonard S. who emigrated to S.Africa and started a match company. John Ernest also had a sister, Sophie,and that's all she knew of her. They also had a relative (Timperley) who was a Station Master in Heidon. However she couldn't recall the man's name.

George Timperley owned a brassworks in Manchester area England his son George emigrated to S. Africa to start a match factory his son Leonard S. was an engineer who converted English cotton mills from steam to electric power after WWII wife's name was Nell

Terrance Andrew Robinson M.D. ( wife Barbara Anne R.N. ) retired from US Army to Phoenix, Az. in 1993.
