The following symbols and styles are used in the Text Tree for all family pages.

  • b. = born
  • c. = circa (about this time)
  • cr. = christened
  • d. = died
  • int. = inter (location of burial)
  • m. = marriage
  • | symbol is used to show relationships within the family tree. Those below or to the right of the | symbol are descended from those above.
  • A surname other than the surname of the current branch is CAPITALIZED to distinguish it from middle or nicknames.
  • Marriages are signified with a +. The individual directly above the + is married to the individual directly after the +.
  • Maiden names are shown in CAPITAL letters enclosed in (parenthesis).
