Hunstanworth is at the top of a hill. At the bottom on one side they have mined lead or Flourspar for hundreds of years, right up until modern times. On the other side they mined outcropping coal for much the same period. It was very much the same at Fallowfield.
Numbering Starts at X.4.1., as Unlinked Records start with "X." so that researchers
can see where the records may belong on adjacent lineages.
The charts of John Temperley, dec, and George Temperley, dec, who researched the family tree several years ago, are combined onto one chart, and the Hunstanworth line is numbered with an 'x' denoting that it is not linked to the main tree. The number assigned to George Temperley is arbitrary, but also represents an approximate place on the tree for comparing generational information. Because there were Fallowfield Temperleys at Shotley and Blanchland, and at least the appearance if not in facts of mining activity as early as 1750, it seems reasonable to number the chart this way to provide a baseline for research, and to make it easier to store records in one computer file with sources.
